Highlights from the Lakers 106 - 73 win against the Bobcats.

Kobe Bryant scored 24 points, Andrew Bynum added 20 and 11 rebounds, and the bench went crazy in the 4th quarter. At one point the Laker’s bench connected on seven consecutive 3-pointers.

After going a stretch of 13 games without cracking 100, the Lakers have now scored 100 points two games in a row.

Lakers - 92, Bobcats - 84

L.A. continued their winning ways, getting their sixth victory in a row since the All-Star break over the Bobcats. Every time we play the Bobcats it’s interesting to watch because they seem to have our number, but we played well enough to pull out the “V” tonight, bettering our record this season to 44-19.

Kobe dropped 27 in an okay night from the field, shooting 10-25. Pau had a triple-double with 20 and 10 and Bynum picked up 17 boards to go along with 9 points. Off the bench Odom had a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Matt Barnes participated in shootaround and was apparently available to play, but didn’t see any time on the floor. Derek Fisher also sprained his left elbow.

Lakers - 89, Bobcats - 109

V-Day massacre?

Most Laker fans know of their troubles against the Charlotte Bobcats, but this one was a little difficult to watch. I didn’t think that they’d struggle this much, especially coming off of that loss to the Orlando Magic.

Pau Gasol had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Kobe added in 20. Kobe didn’t participate in shootaround, as he’s actually going through a minor illness. Phil Jackson was pretty angry with the team as a whole; he even kept the starters in for most of the fourth quarter. Defensively the Lakers were horrible. They were over the limit in fouls at the 10:51 mark in the 4th quarter, quite ridiculous.

The Lakers bench was off for most of the night, characterized by bricked 3 after 3. Not sure where Shannon Brown’s shot has gone, but I’m optimistic that he can return to the form that he had at the beginning of the season.

The Lakers’ next game is against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, and if they win there this would still have been a solid road trip. They stand now at 4-2.
